Lent | Reading 29

The season of Lent provides a time for us to contemplate the depth and passion of our commitment to Christ as we approach Holy Week and Easter. Forty days are set aside as a sacred time to remember the forty days of fasting and prayer that Jesus spent in the wilderness before beginning His earthly ministry.

Today’s readings at Lent:

16 We never give up. Our bodies are gradually dying, but we ourselves are being made stronger each day. 17 These little troubles are getting us ready for an eternal glory that will make all our troubles seem like nothing.

2 Corinthians 4:16-17 CEV

2 Corinthians 4:16-17 NASB

2 Corinthians 4:16-17 NIV

2 Corinthians 4:16-17 MESSAGE

No matter how many times you get knocked down, keep getting back up. God sees your resolve. He sees your determination. And when you do everything you can do, that’s when God will step in and do what you can’t do.

Joel Osteen
