Six people engaged in a Bible study group discussion around a wooden table

If you picture studying the Bible as a journey, Koinonia Bible Studies have carefully crafted these lessons to meet you wherever you are on your spiritual path and to challenge you to take your steps with more confidence, speed, and purpose. Each lesson will give you several opportunities to read from a variety of Bible translations. In addition, you will clearly see what the objectives for the lesson will be. As you study, you will have chances to dig deeper into the context and meaning of the Word. You will have opportunities to ponder the meaning of the Scripture by asking questions – either of yourself or with your group. Finally, you will be given a chance to share what you have discovered.

Using the Lessons For An Individual:

Select a lesson and follow the steps as they progress through the page. Read through the main lesson material. You can dig more deeply by clicking material found in the sidebars. Don’t forget that you can interact with others about the lesson by leaving comments in the section of the sidebar.

Using the Studies in a Class:

Using the lessons to meet the needs and style of your class is simple. You can either use the lecture or discussion notes as the basis for your teaching. The material in the main section can form the basis for your presentation.  If your class is heavy on discussion, use the questions found in the sidebar.

There are handouts and discussion guides available for each lesson. Some of the lessons will also include a Powerpoint presentation of slides that you can use during your class.

Using the Lessons in a Small Group:

Tailor the lesson for the particular needs of your group. Select a method from each of the three headings: ready, reason and react.

There are links to websites and media, handouts, discussion questions and detailed background and content ideas in the DIG DEEPER section of sidebars. In the main section of material, you will find the core ideas and themes of the lessons.

Using your creativity, you can challenge your group to apply God’s Word to every avenue of life.

With each lesson, your respect for God’s Word will have a chance to grow. You will see the gracious nature and spirit of a loving God who wants to have a relationship with you. While no lesson can guarantee that you will stop sinning, these lessons will help you change your motivation from trying to be “good enough” to please God to desiring to express your gratitude for the amazing nature of God’s grace.
