Koinonia Bible Studies

Koinonia Bible Studies has written lessons for adult Bible classes and individual studies for years. The lessons have followed a fairly detailed Course of Study, ensuring that the books of the Bible are covered. There remains a desire to touch upon important and relevant topics. Some of these lessons are becoming available online.

In addition, we are beginning a membership program for Koinonia Bible Studies in 2027. The program will have several levels, providing members with access to several Bible study opportunities. We will also unveil a brand-new Advent program this Christmas, which will be free of charge.

One aspect of the membership program provides a year of small group lessons. The year contains ten different topics, each containing five lessons. If your small group meets every week, the plan covers 50 weeks of the year. If your group only meets every other week, the plan provides several flexible options for how you can use the material. As a free bonus, members will receive an idea book for what your small group can do during the busy months of November and December when meeting becomes very difficult.

A second aspect of the membership program is geared for leaders in the church. Titled “Passing the Faith Along,” the material introduces ways to build fellowship within a group and addresses sharing the gospel to the culture.

Finally, the Koinonia Bible Study membership program intends to introduce in-depth online study projects to cover every book in the New Testament. The courses will make excellent opportunities for individual study or a framework for study among small groups of church leaders.

The first course to be released will be Now and Then. The book looks at Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians. Although most commentators reflect on the many problems displayed in the Corinthian church, our perspective is that there are many similarities between “Now and Then” – the first-century church and the church today. Corinth was a very secular culture. Although there was a Jewish presence, it was small and relatively ineffective. Believers had to confront a culture that was not only opposed to Christianity – but also didn’t understand it. Sound like today?

Perhaps rather than being a church with problems, it was a church wrestling with how to be faithful in a very heathen culture. Again, sounds a lot like the church today, doesn’t it?

The second course to be released next year sports the title “The Writings of Luke.” Covering the material in the Gospel and the book of Acts, the study provides the reader with an understanding of the life of Jesus and the motives and methods of the early church leaders in the days following Jesus’ resurrection.

Over the next several weeks, the links on these charts will become active – allowing you to preview lessons or read summaries about the material.
